Still a Learner....

Booking railway tickets require lot of patience - picking up the forms, filling all the relevant columns, waiting in the queue etc… But even this job is easy as when compared to canceling the tickets which were reserved already.

I had initially booked my tickets with 5 other friends. One of my friend’s friend (now my friend too) booked tickets for all of us in third ac through the online railway reservation system. Because of some personal reasons 3 out of this 5, decided to go by air craft. So we had to cancel those 3 tickets. As a consequence of this the other two friends (Divi,Sangee) and I went to Tambaram railway station to cancel the tickets. We had been there already to reserve tickets some time back, but were totally new to the crowd and also all sorts of commotion that was happening there.

We correctly picked up the cancellation form and Alas! We forgot to carry a pen with us. Divi managed to get a pen from a passer by and thank God we knew all the information that need to be filled in the form. There were few seats in front of the reservation counter(s) occupied by a mob of passengers. Being naïve, we thought that they were waiting for their relatives who had gone for reserving the tickets. So Sangee and I ran through the chairs and on the way there was an empty chair- I told Sangee to occupy that chair and I continued my run piercing the crowd. Suddenly I heard a voice, it was Divi screaming “Hey Neer come back. These are the people waiting in the queue and all of them are shouting at you! Come Back! Come Back!” .

We never thought that they were also waiting to reserve tickets. Huh! We then came all the way back and the most funniest thing is that no one noticed Sangee who made her seat firm in the chair even after all these hubub. We however managed to wait in the queue and finally cancelled the tickets. It took nearly 75 minutes in the queue. Why should we asked to wait for such a simple cancellation? That too with reservation and cancellation done in the same counter? I realised "You cannot open a book without learning something."

King Khan Rockz

Movies -are they just for entertainment? My answer for this question is definitely “no.” I feel that I am so fortune to watch the movie “Chakh De” yesterday (14th Feb). Every sports person has some thing to learn from this movie. What an outstanding story. Kabir Khan brings up a girls hockey team from no where, make them win the world champions. The exceptional part of the movie is how the coach (Kabir Khan) trains up the team not on how to play hockey but how to respect each other team mate regardless of their religion, seniority thereby installing team spirit.

As far as the acting each and every person in the team had done their best part. The best of course is Sharukh who had done the role of Kabir. Wow! What and every drop of Khan’s blood had acted. I should say he had lived as Kabir. Excellent show! King Khan rocks as usual. Must watch movie. Though tardy “Better late than never”.

étranger ( Stranger )

This incident happened yesterday (11th Feb), when I was returning home after a jaunt. A lady who occupied the seat beside me in the bus was seriously searching for something. I thought may be she is going to get down and I would hence get my most favorite window seat. The search sustained for so many minutes and suddenly I could sense a hand that pricked me. Inline with my guess it was that lady and she emoted that she has missed her mobile phone some where and if I could help her finding that. She was sweating, shivering and nerves too.

Suddenly my common sense or presence of mind (what ever people say) worked and I responded saying “ Mam we will find it whether you have lost it somewhere or its still with you. Give me your mobile number and let me call it and check out. This is of double benefit as the luminosity emitted will also lend a hand in locating the mobile phone”. I also made sure that it’s not in silent mode.

I called up and luckily the phone was also in its vibrating mode which created a small vibration in our seats. We located the mobile and she smiled, laughed with tears and bid me thanks from the bottom of her heart. I patted myself , invoking my inner voice “Hey galy you too have something called brain : ).”

The context here is why do people get tensed for loosing small artificial thing like a mobile phone? I was in fact frightened seeing her nervousness and sweat on loosing her mobile. It’s after all a mobile. It’s not something that cannot be brought back. You could obviously get one even if you loose it. But this kind of tension can raise your blood pressure and rate at which the heart beats, causing serious damage to your life which is inevitable. Think and keep your cool always.
