The Heaven

Getting placed in a Multi National Company installed lots of hopes though the greatest struggle were the days before training – to sit idle at home. In accordance to the advises from my family mates and some well wishers, I thought to work in a computer centre, wherein I could teach others as well as learn and thereby keep myself updated. This made to join a leading computer centre as a teaching faculty.

My First Ever workplace

I was too excited the first day and kept telling myself that “Hey you are a faculty now and not a student”. As the center was in close proximity to my home, I started to walk with my mother telling her all my expectations. The first step I took into the centre (with right leg only lol.), the Centre Head told me that there is a separate room for me. I was overwhelmed. Too much of delight and anxiety with lots of butterflies encircling me.

The very first day was more than what I expected. Though I was offered a faculty job, I was taken to a college for canvassing. An amateur who had just come out of her college is now helping out others and guiding them through her instructions. What a huge transformation is this!!!!

So many sudden changes in my life. Even the slang and the accent by which others refer me were also different. For instance, we use pa or yar in college which ultimately changed to vanga ponga(in tamil these are words to portray our respect to others). From “Hi” to “Good morning/evening”; from “getting permissions” to “granting permissions” ; from “pocket money” to “salary’; from “class room” to “faculty room”. All these cherishing memories happened just in front of my eyes – that too the very first day of my job.

There was a nice team of staffs who were very friendly and didn’t consider me an alien or a fresher. The students were equally good and were very co operative. I swear, even in my wildest dreams I will never ever forget this first job and also all the fellow mates with whom I was associated.

The Colorful Month

Every month will have its own traditional importance. This month (December 15 to January 14) is Marghazhi(in Tamil) ,the most colorful month of the year. This is very famous for the rangoli and also the mouth alluring pongal which we get in temples. I consider myself really lucky as I enjoy these almost everyday. We have as a habit to paint the floor with rangoli every night before going to bed. Along with the company of my downstairs friend Vidya, I deem it a great excitement to invent a new rangoli every night.

The most awaited part is the coloring phase, where there would be utmost confusion to choose the correct color that fit in the correct place. This is really interesting and even more exciting than a roller coaster ride.
